Wish I could go back, to how things used to be,
When days were full and nights were long, with friends and family.
I'd go to town and all around, their faces I would see,
But time has passed and all that's left are broken memories.
Strolling down the hallway of my cold, foggy mind,
Stopping at each door and searching, hoping that I'll find.
A piece of me that lets me see and helps me to forget,
All the pain that's in my past and all that's to come yet.
Every room I pass seems smaller than the last,
And in each I find some keepsakes from my past,
But none contain the thing that I want more than all the rest,
In this place, I've come to find I'm no more than a guest.
In one room I stop and put my hand upon my chest,
My biggest fear has come to pass, and though I tried my best,
I look around and strain to see, but find there's no one here.
This room has taken from me every one that I hold dear.
I wish I could go back, to how things used to be,
When days were full and nights were long, with friends and family.
I'd go to town and all around, their faces I would see,
But time has passed and all that's left are broken memories.
But time has passed and all that's left are broken memories.
